Welcome!

I’m Lauren

Hi, I’m Lauren—your go-to girl for all things reading

I help busy women fall back in love with reading—without guilt, pressure, or perfectionism. If your bookshelf is overflowing but your reading confidence is at rock bottom… if your TBR pile makes you feel more behind than inspired (click here for a fun freebie)… or if you’re constantly restarting the same book and wondering if you even count as a “real reader” anymore—you’re absolutely in the right place.

I create simple, sustainable reading routines, book club resources, and confidence-building tools that meet you where you are. No shame. No speed reading hacks. Just doable, joyful reading habits for your real (and probably chaotic) life (click here for my fave reading tips & habits).

Whether you’re crawling out of a reading slump, trying to finish a book for the first time in forever, or just craving a little structure for your reading life—I’m here to help you rediscover your love of books and make reading feel fun again.

Need help getting back into reading? You’re not alone—and you’re definitely in the right place.

This blog is packed with real-life reading tips, low-pressure routines, and guilt-free strategies for busy women who want to read more… without becoming a book-reading robot.

You’ll find cozy-but-practical posts on how to actually finish a book when your brain is fried, book club ideas that don’t feel like homework, and creative ways to remember what you read (because rereading Chapter 3 four times isn’t the vibe). There are spicy book recs, honest reviews, and zero shame if you prefer your paperbacks with a side of popcorn and reality TV.
Basically, if your TBR pile is out of control but your energy level is not, this corner of the internet was made for you.

Behind the blog

How it all started

As a high school English teacher, I have spent the past 14+ years teaching teens who hated reading (or thought they did). They weren’t lazy or uninterested; they were overwhelmed, discouraged, and constantly being told what they should be reading. So I started making tools to help them remember what they read, build confidence, and (gasp) maybe even enjoy a book again. Think: reading trackers that aren’t boring, strategies that work with their Tik-Tok-addled attention spans, and ways to celebrate small wins like finishing a chapter without rereading it four times.

Then one night at book club, it hit me: grown women are struggling with the same exact things. We’d show up with half-read books, vague memories of the plot, and a whole lot of shame about “not keeping up.” That’s when I started adapting my student resources for real-life adult readers—the kind juggling careers, kids, burnout, and massive overwhelming TBR piles. This blog grew from that realization. It’s all about taking the pressure off and giving you tools that make reading work for you again—without feeling like you’re doing classwork.

FAQ

My stacks are out of control to be honest… but that has more to do with the ratio of my lack of time spent organizing to time spent reading.

Reading > Organizing

Hell yes! Email me at lauren@bookclubreader.com and let me know what novel guide you’d like to see next!

In no particular order…

  • To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee
  • The Night Circus, by Erin Morgenstern
  • The Immortal Life of Addie LaRue, by V.E. Schwab
  • The Harry Potter Series, by J.K. Rowling
  • The Midnight Library, by Matt Haig

I do, if it aligns with what I believe and feel is right.

I will never recommend a product or book if I haven’t used and loved it. I don’t do canned responses or company-suggested wording… but if that works for you, let’s work together!
